BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The casino gambling bill is moving quickly through Beacon Hill.
Lawmakers are acknowledging the toll gambling can take on people's lives by creating programs to help fight addiction.
The Boston Globe is reporting that the expanded gambling bill will call for what would be one of the nation's most aggressive programs to help gambling addicts.
The bill expected to be debated by the Senate next week.
The program would include an estimated $25 million annually to support addiction prevention, treatment, and research.
The money would come from fees and taxes from the casinos. |
